My favorites are pretty typical: TUAW, Engadget, Digg, and ThinkSecret

My least favorites: C|Net & MacOSRumors

C|Net is pretty bad if you ask me. On top of the steady stream of "iPod Killers" that they push, today they posted this lame op-ed about how you shouldn't buy the MacBook because of its lack of a second mouse button.

I like Ars, Slashdot, and the Register. There's less actual news lately on the last two sites, but they're fun to read at least. I also read the news articles and press releases that pop up in Yahoo! finance when you ask for a stock quote on a company.

I avoid any news site that uses intelliTXT advertising because I find it annoying.

The Register: Great opinionated articles. I hate the way they don't have links in their articles anymore like they used to.
iPod Hub: New site with articles of the same quality and opinions of The Register. Just hope they hurry up with their organising and design. Should be vunderbar when they sort it out.
Ars: Because it is a great arse....read.
Think Secret: Because they get it right often enough.
Engadget: Because it looks like shite. I don't like super glossy commercial sites like iLounge and Cnet.

Notice what they all have in common. They look simple and easy to navigate and have OPINIONS (same reason I love aintitcoolnews.com). MacNN used to be great but the glossy redesign and greeny pop up links and lack of opinion (articles are just bland press releases) turned me off.

I stopped liking MacNN's news a while ago. I've been using Macworld's RSS feed for a while but I'm always looking for something better. Trying to find RSS feeds that don't contain ads now!! Even Ars has them. (anyone know a way to block sponsored images in feeds? they don't seem to have URLs that can be blocked without blocking the whole feed).

Oh. I like to see what MacRumors.com puts up. Not entertaining articles but usually interesting tidbits and rumors.

Nobody else here reads TechDirt?

MacNN, MacRumors (not macosrumors, mind you), Think Secret, AppleInsider, Engadget, and Engadget Mobile are all toward the top of my NetNewsWire list.

And of course, can't forget CrazyAppleRumors.com. Teh funny.
