After migrating from an iMac to a Mac mini, I find that every time iTunes plays a song, the Dock quits. As weird as it sounds (pun intended).

I've tried to reset the iTunes Media folder (iTunes > Preferences > Advanced Preferences >> Reset) to no avail. The screen goes to grey and the Dock quits/restarts.

I have a SoundSticks III connected to the Mac mini. Disconnecting those doesn't make any difference.

I would bet it is related to the migration process as this didn't happen before but I've ran out of ideas. I don't even know if I can run Disk Utility to verify a SSD disk, should that be needed.

Thoughts?

My bet is you have activated song notifications to pop up over the iTunes Dock icon in the past. In order to turn them down, do the following:

- Quit iTunes if running so you turn Dock notifications OFF
- Open Terminal.
- Run this command,

defaults write com.apple.dock itunes-notifications -bool FALSE;killall Dock

That's it.
