I am running 10.1.4 and it is a brand new install.
I have followed the install instructions to install PHP here to the letter.
I now find that PHP is not working. I have made sure that the /etc/httpd/httpd.conf file is uncommented where it needs to be. I have double checked everything that I can think of...

I can't figure out what to do to get it up and running. I have done the install steps a few times to make sure that I have done it right. I have had this working locally before but had to reformat.
I have herd nothing but good about the page that I listed above. Is there something that is wrong with it?

I know that this is hard to quess what is going on on my machine. If you have questions please ask and I will try and answer.

thanks

Did you install Marc's package, or just try to enable the built-in PHP?

How about putting a copy of your httpd.conf file in your Documents directory and linking to your machine (or dropping it in your iDisk), so we can see exactly how it is configured?

Does the rest of the web server run fine?

Some other items to try:

<font face = "courier">
apachectl configtest

/usr/bin/perl -ne 'BEGIN{$found=0};if(m%^LoadModule php4_module%i){$found++};END{if($found &gt; 0){print"true"}else{print "false"}}' /etc/httpd/httpd.conf
</font>

I tried it, and couldn't get it working, so I switched back to the 10.1.4 base install, which is PHP 4.0.6. It works fine for me now...

Mithras...
I installed his PHP. I thought that there would be no problem as i had it running on my machine running the same setup that I have running now. (mentioned above)
I have the conf file here. I have checked but you may find something that I have not.

ksuther
as I said above I had PHP and MySQL workng before I lost my HD.
I have tried several things. There is an install that I got from here that does everything for you. I do not know how to install PHP myself. If there is a good place that tells how to do it please let me know. I have downloaded the latest for the apple site and am needing to get it woring with MySQL.

Thanks
