So I went on a business trip and before i left my firewire port was working on my iBook just fine. I know this because i hooked up my iPod, transfered some music and stuff. I use my book while in the hotel room and on the last day i try to transfer a movie from a portable Firewire HDD to the book for inflight intertainment and it doesn't mount. It will power but not mount. So i get home and try to use other firewire devices like my other two HDD's and my iPod again and it wont mount any of them.

So what do you think could be the problem and how would i fix this.

Thanks in advance!

Reset the PMU and PRAM. Then try and mount multiple firewire devices. If the devices still don't mount, you will need to replace the logic board.

Did you try with different firewire cables? I've had problems with bad cables.
