This phone makes it clear that, if I'm finally going to get a smartphone, I probably should do so while I can get an I6.

I keep reading the title as IPv7. They won't need to expand the address space again for at least a century or three, so the new features will probably center around encryption and privacy.

These keys: A E G L O T X Z
This order: ZALGO TEXT
Though you won't get your answer unless you press those keys while in Google.

Got my iPhone 7. Quite happy with it. Very Snappy(tm).
The SIM tray and the lightning connector all require a bit more force to use. I guess it is due to the waterproofing. The home button isn't that bad to use. Haven't used the phone much though!

I don't like the haptic feedback of the home button.
It's far inferior to the click-feeling of the physical button of the iPhone 6s.
Sure, I'll get over it, but it's a step back.
Just doesn't feel like a real button (unlike the MBP Forcetouch Trackpad, which is almost indistinguishable from a real button click).

I assume you have it set to 3?
It's not quite as satisfying as a real button, but I don't find it too horrid.

It feels like a real button, but a chicklet one, or a membrane one.
How hard I press seems to factor into the "satisfaction" index.
I feel like it's draining the hell out of my battery, but in trying to form an opinion, I'm playing with it way more than normal.

I like the new home button actually. Double clicking it is far easier than a physical button.

I'm sure that they will make it part of the display as soon as they can make TouchID work with that. It is pretty clear that Ive's design goal is all display front.
|
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

I'm very curious how they incorporate other uses of the Home Button into the UI.
E.g. app switching and closing apps.
Dedicated virtual button like you get with Accessibility settings ?

I don't dislike the fake button, but it confuses my muscle memory.
Said memory wants the real button, and interprets the fake one as something else.
On more than one occasion I've needed to get to the home screen and wondered for a second what I'm supposed to do. Or I'll have the opposite problem where my thumb wants the button to be part of the interface of the app I'm using. Like it's an extension of Force Touch.

Having problems where the screen locks if there's a phone call... or just now needed to report a robbery in progress and the phone keypad locked up.
Annoying.

I got my Jet Black iPhone 7 (non-Plus with 256 GB storage) last weekend to replace my aging iPhone 5, and I effin' love it. I was never very enthusiastic about the design of the iPhone 5, it looked like half an iPhone 4/4S to me with an unimaginative back. The touch of the Jet Black phone resembles the glass back of my beloved iPhone 4S, and because the antenna lines are nigh invisible, it really seems like the monolith from Space Odyssey.
Of course, it is lightening fast (compared to my iPhone 5 which had to deal with an OS that had outgrown its CPU oomph), all interactions feel instantaneously, and to my surprise, I even use Force Touch for Peek & Pop as well as Live Photos. Ditto for the Taptic Home Button, I was initially quite skeptical, but given the many uses of the Taptic Engine, I don't miss it anymore. (I'm also happy with my Force Touch Trackpad, if that is any indication.) The camera also didn't disappoint either, and the fact that I can use it as my commuter pass on public transport is really the icing on the cake.
Perhaps I wouldn't rave as much if I were upgrading from a 6, but still, it's an amazing piece of engineering. The only two downsides are that I am still getting used to the 4.7" screen size, and the difficulty of quelling my paranoia that I'll scratch it.

I've ordered a FabrixCase, it should arrive soon. At $20 and $30 they are quite affordable (the more expensive ones use cloth meant for suits which is not just more durable, but also quite classy). I have had several over the years for iPod Touches and my iPhone 4S. They worked great, because they offered protection without a case. I really love the industrial design of the 7 (and 4S), so any case detracts from that. Plus, every time you pull them out of the case, you clean the front and back of your phone.

I think this is more a sleeve type deal, not a skin.
In that same vein, but not as cheap, I'm a fan of Foof.

I have had my jet black Plus for about a week, coming from a 6 Plus. So far I'm loving it. Faster and I like the haptic home button way more than I expected.

Yeah, same here. I was skeptical because I have an affinity for physical buttons, and trying the 7s out in the local Apple Store didn't really endear me to it. Then I got mine and quickly forgot about its nature. I really like how in some cases the Tactile Engine enhances the UI.
