Is there a way to set all windows to show the items in list by default? (OS 8.6...computer too slow to run much better)

I don't know the freeware/shareware utilities off hand, but if you go to http://www.versiontracker.com and then do a search under finder I am sure a bunch of utilities with info will pop up. You can also try http://www.download.com and they will have catagories to narrow your search. Good luck!
