Genius? Evil? Evil genius?
I think Google are finally getting their core offering together. All the data they have access to is beginning to get useful. Unless of course one is totally freaked out by just that thought.

I like the idea of Larry's Techno Test Island. I'd visit.

There's much complaining on google+ about the absence of a new Nexus phone. Apparently the unlocked S4 isn't cutting it for these folks.

Yeah, but Microsoft has a history of not getting efforts like that ever taken seriously.
Microsoft taking the high moral road is just too ridiculous a notion to gain any traction.

Counteropinion:
Google is not “evil”. Google is too big to be evil. At its worst, Google is banal.
My serious problem with Google is that their products for users (the ones that collect information to inform advertising) are becoming confused, inarticulate, and increasingly malicious. Malicious in that Google is effectively transforming the World Wide Web itself into one of its products by controlling (through a natural monopoly) traversal and discovery (Google Search).
[…]
Google has a problem. The problem is that nobody says no. Google effectively owns the Web, and they’re lousy managers.
