I have to reformat my HD and am using iPod as my backup drive. Netscape is really messed up and I can't even download it now. I have some very special music I want to save so I can't afford to screw it up. Will it work to simply drag the iTunes folder onto my reformatted drive? or are there files I will need to get from the System? Anyone done this who can walk me through the process?

Hi sweet1,
App`s need to be installed , so "drop`n drag" I don`t think will work.
I don`t think it would hurt to try but I don`t think you`ll have any luck. Files get "sprayed" when they are installed (ie: peref. exten. and "locked" system info) . Even if you were to delete a program by trashing the exten, and pref. , I still think you`ll have some data in the system folder that you can`t delete unless you do a "clean-install"
I hope this helps, good luck !!
