I just got a Pismo PowerBook G3/400 --

On the top part of the case, there are three panel -- the left side, the middle with the Apple logo, and the right side. The left and right side panels seem to have some sort of odd, faded markings on them that are only visible at certain angles of light. They don't rub off.

As strange as this sounds, I can't tell if the plastics are damaged, or if the shell is ever so slightly transparent and the internals are showing through.

Anybody know which is the correct? Anybody know what I'm talking about?

Thanks,

- Scott

Scott, check out ogrady.com today. He talks about plastic molding remnants on iBooks and PB FireWire models. There's a TIL also.

It's nothing to worry about. And Apple won't fix it, cause it's not broke! ;]

This is an interesting note, but it doesn't seem to be quite the same type of arifacts I see on my Pismo case. Mine are abstract shapes and about an inch wide in some cases.

Thanks for the tip, though!
