I'm thinking about getting a little 15 inch apple LCD as a second monitor. I'll need to get another video card. Are there any PCI video cards that have the adc on them?

Thanks,

lw

no because ADC carries power, and PCI can't provide that.

I don't believe AGP does either. The cards that include ADC cannot go into a standard AGP slot and work- I THINK. I know that the stock Apple cards will no go in an older G4 with AGP as they have extra pins that provide power.

Of course, I could be wrong.

You are 50% wrong (I think...). ADC cards go in regular AGP-slots but they need an extra connection to the powersupply I think.

The G4 motherboards that support ADC have a 25-28V power connection at the end of the AGP slot closer to the back of the machine. The graphics card itself has a little connector just behind the AGP connector that feeds power to the ADC port.

Here's an example card:

Radeon w/ ADC
