The text in Age of Empires II goes all bad VGA or something since upgrading to 10.2.

Anyone have any suggestions or heard of a patch?

I am rebooting in 9.2 but you know how much that sucks.

Or is there a way to make the game run in classic instead of starting from 10?

Thanks.

I imagine this might be due to the font smoothing. There's probably a haxxie out there that will disable it (TinkerTool maybe?) Just an idea...

No help but I get screwed up aspect ratio for the Map view on widescreen systems. (G4 iMac and G4 Powerbook) see here

Last night I found more 10.2.1 vs AOE II problems I have found that did not exist before in 10.1.5:

*The volume control via the keyboard media keys is also screwed when playing. Works in Finder but not in AOE.

*I had real trouble playing with a Graphire tablet using the three button mouse. Works for a while and then suddenly the mouse would not go from the bottom section of the screen to the map. Plugging in a macally mouse and using that works OK.

*Scrolling the map feels real jerky now

Looking for more.

Is there an email address we can send this stuff to? I mean Apple are still promoting this as a current MacOS X game.

Add Age of Empires 2 to the "ignore" list in the Silk preferences pane. That will fix it.

Thanks Brad

You rock. That worked. I just didn't expect that to be the case since silk worked fine in 10.1.
