there exist 2 versions of that drive, one labeled W and one.. (forgot). Now both (including mine :-) are working! yipp!
Toast could use it before but iTunes/Finder said there was no useable device to burn.
Yipp.

the other one's "S" -- i wonder what the difference is, by modifying the deviceplugin, the burner worked before, as well.
anyway, it's officially supported and that's great!

My 32x12x40 LiteOn is not supported for burning and if I rip a CD with it it won't eject the CD until I restart.
Boo! It used to burn in 10.1

can't you even eject it via hdiutil's "eject -force"?
if you're interested, i wrote a small gui for myself that lets you force eject "stuck" cds...

Rats... my Sony CD-RW CRX185E3 is still not supported. It kinda sucks, because it WAS supported in OS 9, OS X 10.0 and OS X 10.1
But why not OS X 10.2? I don't get it

I have a CRX185E1 that's not supported either in Jaguar. I have Toast which is fine for most burning but I love iTunes for making music CDs.

This is strange. I thought all Light-On driver where suported. I was lucky then. I compared the list of drive 'brands' on Apples site, to a price list of CDR/RW drives from my local cheap PC parts store, then bought the cheapest drive I could find from a supported manufacturer (obviously Light-ON). And it has always worked perfectly under both OS9 & OSX (since original release). I could have easily ended up with a no supported drive model.
