Ok, now that OS X 10.1 is out... It now supports more printers, more digital cameras... My PowerShot S110 now works okay.
But I still would like to see native support for scanners. Canon has a real inexpensive one, the N650U.
I wished it was supported natively. It works through Classic though. But that will be the only thing holding me to Classic once Office v. X ships.
Maybe when it's at 12 o'clock midnight, that is when the transition to OS X is considered complete, scanners will be supported natively.

I agree.
I have an Epson Perfection 1200S. I like the scanner, but the software that came with it was pretty crappy. It was last updated in 1998. I don't ever expect it to be updated to OS X.
I would love to have a very simple iTunes like program that would make it really easy to scan in a bunch of pictures, crop and adjust the color, and make a web page out of them.

Agfa has an OSX native version of Scanwise for their Snapscan series of scanners. I have been using it for the last week (under 10.0.4) with no problems. Readme says it also works with 10.1

I am Curious. Which 6 scanners are sold at the Apple Stores? Can you go in and try scanning a photo there? What software do they use to scan into 10?

AGFA scanners have native Mac OS X drivers.
Their professional scanners use the FotoLook X Software.
Their consumer scanners use the ScanWise X software.
Agfa began supporting Mac OS X weeks after its launch.
