While web broswing, my cpu is spiking to 100%. This is the only application I've noticed do this. Any browser I use does this. I thought menu meters was reading wrong, so I looked at the widget system summary I have and activity monitor and they all say the same thing. Is something wrong here? I know my system has a slow processor, but so slow that is takes 100% to web browse doesn't seem right.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

If all your browser are "working" the same way you might have a network issue. How is lookup working ? Do you reboot your machine once in a while ?

What is Safari doing when it's taking CPU? If it's just rendering a page, 100% is fine, since the usage is momentary, and non-blocking.

Um, you want your apps to use 100% of the CPU if they are actually doing something. It rather negates the usefulness of having a CPU if it isn't being used to its fullest.

If Safari is saturating the CPU when it isn't doing anything, then that is a problem/bug. Send Apple a bug report for the page that causes it (to make this easier to do, add the report bug button to your Address Bar by customising it via the View menu).

It's while rendering. Hangs a little too. If this is normal, cool.

If the page you are viewing has lots of animated stuff on it, especially gifs, then that could well be your answer. OS X still cant handle a few measly gifs.. And its more evident than ever in Safari, and even more so on older slower computers *Quietly points finger at 400mhz G4*
The worst thing about having a failing memory is..... no, it's gone.
