i have a 466mhz 'digital audio' (tangent or clockwork) g4 tower that when given power beeps loudly (and rudely) while a demon red led glares at me. my first instinct was bad/wrong ram, so i tested many different chips, but i have been unable to get any other response from the machine. if anyone knows what i may be missing here i would be eternally grateful.

Is it a beep or a boing (chime)?

Since he's tried numerous RAM chips...

And ' One beep is meant to mean "no RAM installed". ' ...

Could it be there is some crud on the contacts where the RAM is installed... or break in the seat. Close inspection might be called for. (to rule out this expensive possibility)

Have you got the correct RAM installed?
Remember that the D.A. 466 mhz computer can't use PC100 RAM,
You need to use 168-pin, 64-bit-wide 8ns PC133 SDRAM (3.3v).
(Just in case you have the wrong speed of RAM installed, Thought I'd mention this)
