Here's how it happened:

I attempted to plug into my old Ti Book the old hard drive from a different laptop (had just put it into a new external HD case) using a FW cable.

It immediately shut the screen off and made an ugly buzzing noise in the machine.

No luck resetting PRAM, PMU, or just the screen (R on startup). An external monitor works,--it immediately picks up as the only monitor and the TiBook functions fine.

So my assumption is that I possibly fried the LCD. So I'm thinking about buying a new display to fit into my enclosure (using ifixit.com's guides). But before I do this, I don't want to get mixed up by finding out it's the logic board or video card, although I'm pretty sure the two are integrated on the Ti PB's.

Any advice on some steps to take before plunging into a new LCD would be really appreciated!!!
I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are
missing.
