Well, according to Steve Jobs' Secret Diary he has a MacBook Pro.

So I got the Leopard update. Put it on my MacBook Pro and got the dead screen that everybody is talking about.

I'd expect an exec to have a pretty boring computer... something stable and reliable. So a Mac Pro and MBP sounds about right. Nothing beta or in development. I wouldn't be surprised if his desktop runs Tiger because he hasn't gotten around to upgrading.

I thought I read a quote from hin where he said he runs whatever computer equipment they furnish him, and it's not always the biggest and best. The reason I say this is, I thought I recall someone asking him if he had a 30" back when they were first introduced at . . . what was it $7k? . . . anyhow, I think he responded "no".

I remember a year after he came back to Apple from next he used a Thinkpad with NextOS on it. Looked sorta bad though as it showed he had no love for the current Apple Hardware or software.

Yeah he didn't have a 30" monitor... he had ten of them. (and I believe they were about $2800.

I imagine he has a powerful system, but probably not the wall of monitors we droolingly imagine.

It would be funny if he had a custom voice for speech synthesis that was his own voice.

I bet he has a macbook pro.... connected to a laser gun pointing at a giant granite slab. Every morning he ties a Bill clone to it and chuckles "No Mr Gates I expect you to DIE!"

Then the ceiling of his office cracks open revealing his giant blimp which he rides around cupertino in.

Apple used to fly a pirate flag, they should do that again. Maybe put it up on Speak Like a Pirate Day, or on Darwin's birthday.

Cabel,

I hear that your deal with AOL fell through. Any interest in throwing in with us at Apple?

Wouldn't it be ironic if he hated computers but just liked the fame and fortune that they bring?

Did some one just say "many a true word said in jest" ?

No one I can think of who is as powerful as he is seems to be weighed down by a millstone-computer. Surely he has "people" to do things for him, I would!

The relationship you suggest between size of computer and importance of person would certainly explain this pic:

I know some executives at some huge companies where their PA's print emails out, and the exec handwrites a reply, and the PA then types up the email and sends it. Nuts eh?

I'd like to think his Stevieness uses Cube, that's been moded to use an intel cpu

Most likely though I think the odds are between slim and none (and slim left town) on that.

That was one awesomely designed computer - unfortunately in a rare miss-step they missed the mark with that computer. Oh well, I have one sitting next too me, and it still works great.
