Wise words for the most part, weren't they part of a commencement speech he made a few years back.
During that speech he highlighted the fact that leaving apple was the worst and best thing that ever happened to him.

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first. You can take away a man's political freedom and you won't hurt him- unless you take away his freedom to feel. That can destroy him. That kind of freedom can't be granted. Nobody can win it for you.”

The real question is: why is everyone using a hyphen to off-set quote attributions? The long dash is ⌘ ctrl + people, ⌘ ctrl + !

"People do the things they do because they are trying to obtain their own happiness, no matter how counter-productive it may seem"

— A co-worker

This was after a conversation about a TV show on NatGeo about gangs in LA.

She has said many wise things to me, this being the latest. I have the utmost respect for her, she has not had an easy life. If you were to pass by her on the street you would see a lower middle class type but she has proven to me time and time again to be the wisest person I have met.

Looks like you're trying to shovel some dogma into my pleasant thread. Don't.

"As democracy is perfected, the office of the President represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be occupied by a downright moron." - H.L. Mencken in 1920

Hey, I was in Cortland, NY two days ago visiting my Dad--He grew up near there and my grandmother retired there--and we drove by "Dio Way". It's a small, small street with only a couple houses on it but I am guessing that is the street where Ronnie was born and grew up. (As if you didn't know already that Ronnie James Dio comes from Cortland, a small farming town in central NY.)
One should never stop striving for clarity of thought and precision of expression.
I would prefer my humanity sullied with the tarnish of science rather than the gloss of religion.
