BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | Diamond star thrills astronomers

Thats 10^34 carats. The cosmic diamond is a chunk of crystallised carbon, 4,000 km across, some 50 light-years from the Earth in the constellation Centaurus.

You'd save over 90% if you bought that as a cubic zirconia. What a waste of money.

We already have the technology to make diamonds.
Bush Tax Cuts == Job Killer
June 2001: 132,047,000 employed
June 2003: 129,839,000 employed
2.21 million jobs were LOST after 2 years of Bush Tax Cuts.

Has De Beers made a move on it yet?
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

It says... ""We figured out that the carbon interior of this white dwarf has solidified to form the galaxy's largest diamond,"

WTF does that mean??? They've searched every white dwarf in the galaxy and determined that this one contains the largest crystal carbon core? Or did the writer of the article just drop the word "known" from the last part of the sentence?

I love the U.S., but we need some time apart.

Since you posted the pic, aren't big uncut diamonds black?

Edit: maybe not.
