When you click on Computer in the toolbar, or scroll all the way to the left in column view, the Network icon is there. I imagine this would be very useful..but I haven't got a network. Is there a way to disable it?

im sorry. i dont know the answer to yr question. but, i sure would like to see it work in this way: when you have multiple machines on the same network, say, at home over airport, then it simply finds them and you have access to them through the finder.
currently you need to go through the menu bar/go/connect to server and explicity tell it to hook up to another computer.
why wouldnt this be easily implementable?

What is that damned Network folder for in the Finder anyhow? I've got an iBook on a LAN here and it doesn't show up. Yet I can get to it through the Go menu. Can someone enlighten me?
