My company is developing a web application, and the project needs a cross-platform chat application.

Sounds simple, but here's the catch--the site is driven by Domino and the chat needs to be as integrated as possible. Lotus makes a Windoze-only version of Sametime, their chat client, and it's totally integrated, but there isn't a functional Mac version. The PC version, for example, can be leveraged to show, on a web page, the active chatters, etc.

Cool stuff, but peecee only. So that gets me back to my question--any (and I mean ANY) ideas about cross-platform clients? I'm fighting hard to put the Mac on the same playing field as the PC, but this is the one missing link. Unfortunately, AIM is kinda out of the question, since it can't really be leveraged to make the "integration" stuff happen. Plus, it's AOL's product, and I'd hate to deliver that to the client. ;-)

Oh, and the "Domino sucks" thing--while I largely agree, I can't change that part of the equation. :-)

Many, many thanks for any help!

I do not know much about it (I have only seen it for the first time today), but Jabber might be worth a look.
