Is this the same version as Office v.X for Mac that costs 499.95.

I have some version I got off of morpheus, but unless I can apply updates to it from microsoft, it is not going to do me much good if I want the latest fixes.

Thanks

Hmmm, it actually looks like you can download updates from microsoft. Unlike in the windows version, that goes through a bunch of checks. Interesting.

Or you can find someone at a University with a M$ agreement and buy a copy there for cost of media (i.e. $10 or so)

Are you saying you've got the licence for that price but need the actual software? I'm not sure what you mean.

Anyways, I paid $70 for my Office v.X educational, plus $3.25 for the media.

I dunno if it's exactly the same though since I have not yet received it.

He means that certain universities have deals with Microsoft so that it only costs faculty/students for the media it's on.

For example, at Indiana University here, Office v.X (as well as Windows XP, etc) costs $5.
