Freeware/Shareware scanner software?

Hey everybody!
A couple of years ago I bought my parents an HP officejet 5510 all-in-one for general use. Last fall I bought them a Mac mini but had, by that point, lost the software installation discs that had accompanied the HP. Unfortunately, the only way to get the HP scanning software is off of the original discs, which I don't seem to have anymore.
Can anybody suggest a decent freeware/shareware scanning solution for OS X? They have some photographs that need scanning.

I'd try VueScan. It seems to work with everything.

From my experience with my HP G85 All-in-one, the scanner/panorama maker/etc software is downloaded along with the latest drivers from the HP web site. Isn't that the case for yours?

JKT, I just checked the HP website! They now have software, as you indicated they would, for download. Worked a charm! YAY.
