How to change an application icon?

Highlight the file, press Apple-I, or go to File -> Get Info, click the icon in the top left, and paste on whatever you want it to be (that has to already be on the Clipboard)...
If thats what you mean.
If you mean changing an applications owner icon of its files, then that gets more complicated, but nothing too hard
You just need to delve into the realm of ResEdit...

Cipher 13 leaves a few steps out......... I just accomplished the following steps to refresh my memory........
1. Hilite/select the icon in question
2.Select >get info< from Menu Bar or keyboard
3. Hilite or mouse tap top left icon in Get Info window and select COPY from keyboard or File menu.Close window
4.Select/hilite the icon that you want to change
5.Select >get info< from Menu Bar or keyboard
6. Hilite or mouse tap top left icon in Get Info window and select PASTE from keyboard or File menu. Close window
Icin is changed PRONTO......
