Tell your brother to call Apple Tech Support, they've been very helpful tome in the past, no reason they shouldn't be to your brother as well!!!

Version of OS? How much RAM? Just a couple of questions that I need answering before I even try to answer.

My bro switched to '8.6 Base' in xtn mgr, and it still hung on SD. Now Im not sure what to tell him, but it doesn't look like an extension.
He said he has recently begun using his girlfriends printer (Older StyleWriter- I think) & Keyboard/mouse. This is the only clue I have.
Could this cause a problem?

The printer was the problem. He disconected it and all went well. Hmmm, thats strange.
It would be too bad if he had to not use the printer. Could it be a bad cable? Ill also tell him to reinstall the printer driver.
Any thoughts?
