Awesome. Still have time. Just got my D70 back from the repair shop, and just in time for a day's excursion to Catalina island this weekend. Hope to get some viable contenders.
Anyone have have any experience with either the tamron (10-20 or 12-24mm) or Tokina (12-24mm) wide angles? If there is a chance, I will pick one of these up in time for this trip.

No, not these lenses. My cousin (a professional photographer) has a Tokina fisheye and several other Tokina lenses and he loves them. Ditto for me an my Tokina lenses I had.

I've got the camera on a tripod set to "bulb" mode so that I can determine how long the exposure lasts.
The light comes from a Sauce Lightwand set to color changing mode. I start exposure with the infrared remote and trace the edges of the chair.
Takes about 3-4 tries to get it right.
Check out my Flickr sets for a lot more pictures:

Check out the Mercedes that I traced. Took quite a lot of work to do that one.

I've finally added mine.
I think this time, all pics submitted so far are on topic (personally, I thought some pics of last time's contest should have been rejected as they weren't outdoor/nature shots). I like many submissions so far.

Are we going to do the same thing as last time: mention 5 and then just count the votes?
I already picked mine

I don't know, apparently nobody cares to vote (I thought they'd do it in a separate thread) …Â

When you go thru the gallery while logged in, you will now see radio buttons under each picture.
You choose your top 5 pictures, in order (it does matter) and then vote for them. The software will tally the rankings.

Just a small bug report: clicking on the choices on the top of the page leads to an error (there's an additional item. in the url).

Enough time so that most interested folks can vote. Maybe say, two weeks? If those who entered the contest feel enough people have voted, then maybe less than two weeks.
Anyway, I'm finding it hard to pick just five, but I still have some time to decide

Nothing to do with the competition, but photo related. I just set up a web site of the pictures from my LA trip. Here's the link, and here are a couple of samples:

SDL, you need to register, then when you click the gallery, you should see radio buttons under each pic. When you pick the five you want, click the vote button on the top of the page.
