I'm looking into getting a mini to run my home theater system. A G4 mini would do fine. I'd like at least 512 RAM but that's not required. Superdrive isn't needed. Anyone got one? Thx.

Thanks, but that's more than I need for my purposes and, consequently about $200 more than I want to spend. Good luck selling.

Bumping this old thread because my Xbox 360 isn't doing the job as a media extender. Anyone with a mini they'd like to sell? A G4 mini would do fine.

the g4 mini can run front row (it ran front row via a hack). i ran it on my old g4 mini. try a google search, although apple might've shut the site with instructions down.

I can figure out how to run front row on the mini. If I can't there are several other options available.

I've got:
Mac mini / 1.25 GHz G4 CPU / 512 MB RAM / 40 GB HD / Combo
Not sure what to ask for it yet. I'd actually really like to trade up to an Intel Mac mini.

If you come up with an asking price, lemme know. Just for reference, I saw a few similar systems on craigslist for about $275 or less. I can get a new 1.42ghz with 80 gig drive in the computer store at Dook for $399.

Yea.. and really, at that range... I figure I might as well hang onto it or find a use for it somewhere. Maybe if the AppleTV I ordered doesn't live up to the hype. (which is may very well not.... if only it played divx)

you might want to get an intel mini. the g4 mini is horrible at playing hd content (mpeg4 or h.264)
