Well I've been looking for a while now and can't find any reasonably priced 3.5" firewire enclosures. Most for 40 or more. It just a case. I can get an old imac (using it as a case and fully functional computer) and just stick my HD in there for these prices.

Has anyone happened to stumble accross any good deals? $30 or less? Cant even find any used ones on ebay for under $40.

Might I be able to buy a 2.5" enclosure, rip it up, and plug it into the 3.5" drive without frying something?

edit: hmmm maybe this should be in peripherals forum; it started out based more on imac ripping apart then I changed the subject and didnt think about it.

Newegg has a few 3.5" Firewire+USB enclosures under $30; oddly cheaper than Firewire only.

You could buy a 2.5" enclosure and rip out the bridge board, but then you'd need a 2.5" IDE to 3.5" IDE+power bridge board.

Well Looks like thats what I'm going to get. Thanks. The reviews say its cheap and flimsy but its not something I'm going to be carrying around. The only other one almost as good as this
http://www.shop4tech.com/user.htm?go...a=3&s_cata=184 but doesn't come with a firewire cable.
