Hi Computer Gurus,

I recently joined this great site. I am in need of reformatting my Ibook G4, my ex broke my disks and changed the passwords. So, I am asking for any help or suggestions you can offer to help me with this matter. I am still somewhat new to this system, I used window systems for sometime. Thanks in Advance.

Broke your disks and changed your passwords? That stinks.

You need an OS X disc. There are other ways to change your account's password, but they're not ways I'd recommend to the inexperienced. When you find an OS X disc, insert it and then restart while holding the C key. Eventually you'll boot using the disc. You'll find in the installer's menu an option to reset your password. If you'd rather reinstall the OS you can do that instead.
