I have a Mac (OSX 10.4) at home that I need to setup VPN for. I followed the exact directions a co-worker used that worked for him and his Mac (setting up VPN/PPTP). The Mac works fine for normal web browsing and that sort of thing without the VPN connected, but as soon as I start up the VPN my Internet connection dies and I can't "see" any of my office's servers.

Given that we have almost identical Macs, I thought perhaps the issue is the only thing different between his and my home networks-- namely, the router. I have a Netgear WPN824 and a quick bit of Googling pulled this up:

WPN824 issue with VPN (PPTP) - NETGEAR Forums

Does that mean I'm SOL for getting VPN to work with the Mac and Netgear? Or is there some other workaround that'll get things running?

(I read a bit about Mac's built-in VPN not working and that something called IPSecuritas could work, so I'm looking into that...)

Thanks,
m19
