Here is my battery info to start:

as you can see my laptop is very new (12 weeks old). it will tell me that i am at 100% capacity, eventhough i know 175mAh is no where near the 4400 mAh capacity. i have followed the instructions that apple has on its website to calibrate the battery on my laptop, but after three times, nothing has worked. any ideas? is it just a bad battery?

Bad battery for sure. Check Apple's dicussion board and you will see this is a common problem on the new 15 inchers. My friend's battery died within the first two weeks, and my wife's shows a full charch capacity of 3500 mAh. These are both 1.67 15" powerbooks, and ours has less than 30 cycles.
