Won't work near as nice as an iPod with iTunes would.

Well they won't play back the advanced audio codec for a start (iTMS or otherwise), just ATRAC ( ) and MP3. Almost certainly won't play nice with iTunes - in fact I'm not even sure they have Mac support at all...

What's wrong with iPods?

Because you've used one? or your saying this because you don't know what your talking about?

I have one, works fine mounts on my desktop I just drag files to the "music" directory... mp3s work, an atrac if y ou wanted. If you get something with a small drive say the little 512mb one with OLED it's really nice to have the screen and since it's small not having it listed in itunes is fine. Just pop your mp3s on there. (it also supports audiobook files, from that audio download site, and WMV i believe... AND i believe you can use it with the yahoo music store's subscription music that is $4.99/month...

I said I wasn't sure they supported Macs. A while back I looked into getting one and at the time they didn't. The part about not being sure kind of implies that I don't know what I'm talking about, no?

Er, I also said it almost certainly wouldn't play nice with iTunes. And it doesn't.

I think you should calm down.

ATRAC is a great codec. Sony could have made it into the industry standard, had they not kept it super-proprietary.
