I'm finished! download them here:

http://www.zyotism.com/aesthetics

I decided to just do 22 icons and then release them a day or so early! They're compiled for Mac OS X systems, and are distributed in the Pixadex iContainer format, or just in a standard old folder :-)

Finally glad to be done. Now i can start on a new set for a different movie!

yes, i'm particularly happy with the improvements on that icon. the original was rubbish, this one is much better... not "perfect" but it looks clean and smart. and the lighting and transparency on it is okay.

thanks for the kind words!

Bravo bravo. I like this icon set. Not really one I could see being a system replacement, but definitely good icons for something else. Very well done.

Suggestions for movies to do an iconset from?

-American Pie
-Go
-Barbershop (Items like the collection jar, clippers, cash money, combs, ATM machine, Dinka's flowers, the card to Terri, Terri's Apple Juice...)
-Resident Evil (The virus cylander, the antidote cylander, various guns, keycards, keypads, wrist-computer, smoke grenade, characters, monsters/zombies...)
-Rat Race (The heart, the keys, money, the bag of squirrel nuts, the "**** doggies", hitler's lipstick...)
-Scary Movie (1,2, or 3) (A plethora of items are possible here, just watch the movies and see.)
-Tomb Raider (1 or 2)(TR1: the triangle pieces, the whole triangle, maps, compass, guns, backpack, lara, swords, the eye, the knife.... TR2: the orb, guns, backpack, lara, parachute, handcuffs, terry, cell phone, pandora's box...)
-The Mummy (1 or 2) (Been a while since I saw this, but I know there was some items iconable here...)
-Blair Witch (1 or 2) (BW1: The map, stick men, rock piles, backpacks, video cameras... BW2: Cameras, beer, wiccan paraphenalia, candles, knives, research material, evidence bags with evidence...)
-Clue (Old movie but lots of potential for icons! You got the 6 weapons, the characters, and several other items found in the movie. The broken chandelier, the key that locks the cupboard, the glove, the telephone, the blackmail information, manila folder, photograph negatives, tape recorder...)

That's all I can think of right now.

Resident evil sound slike a fantastic idea. lots of really clean imagery, clean, but EVIL. and then of course the zombies after your brains! ;-p BRRRRAAAAAAINS.

thanks for the ideas! and for checking out my icons. Yeah, not system replacement at all. but meh! :-) i'll do one of those someday!

These icons are great. Absolutely kick-a$$. I love the idea of taking these small details from the movie blowing the up into full icons.

Now I've got a suggestion for the next "movie" icon set you should do... get ready for it:
The Big Lebowski

Now here is a list of things that could be made into icons:
  • A Ralph's card
  • A check for $0.69
  • A bowling ball
  • THE RUG (stained and unstained versions)
  • Walter's gun
  • Cynthia's dog
  • the big Lebowski's wheelchair
  • TIME mirror
  • Severed toe
  • A white russian
  • A roach clip
  • A CCR tape
  • The Dude's car
  • The Dude's Glasses
  • An Autobahn LP
  • The Ringer
  • Maude's Painting
  • Larry Seller's Homework
  • An In & Out burger
  • A Folger's can

Actually a few people have mentioned the big lebowski to me. Seems to be quite a popular movie. your list looks good too. It's surprising just how many "iconic" items there are that make up a film. all very memorable items in themselves.

thanks for the suggestion. :-)
