I have a Lacie Pocket hard drive - I have had it over a year
and the warranty has run out on it.
When I try and copy files from a Mac to it, it reads and writes
to the drive a couple of small items then starts to slow down.

The drive mounts OK but will not allow copying from a different
Mac the items it has stored on it - starts... slows... stops.

I have wiped and reformatted the drive a few times now but is
still 'skittish' about copying files.

Is it a goner ? Is there any way to get up and running around again?

What port do you have it plugged into? A colleague had exactly this problem, until we figured out he had the drive plugged into a USB 1.1 port instead of USB 2.0...
All opinions are entirely those of my employer. It's not my fault.
