I couldn't wait any longer and ordered a MBP 15". I was thinking of maxing it out to 3 gigs of ram. Will I notice a difference between 2 gigs and 3 gigs?

Youll only notice a difference if the extra 1gb of ram is being used....

If your MBP doesnt page out with 2gb of ram (whilst doing what you need it for) then you wont notice any difference!!!

Yeah, it all depends on your usage. Use the computer under a normal work load for a while, then open up Activity Monitor and look at the System Memory pie. Here's the standard I use: If the amount of active memory is close in size to the amount of inactive+free memory, you could use more memory. On the other hand, if most of your memory is inactive, you've got a sufficient amount.

Yep - what will you use it for? I would not buy it from Apple though - buy it with the smaller amount, and order the extra from a third party.
