Hey guys,

Haven't noticed a discussion thread about Cyberpunk 2077 over here, so I figured why not start one.

This game got me pretty excited - especially if holds up to the standard that CDPR set with The Witcher 3. The thing I'm most enthusiastic about is the cybernetic upgrades. I mean, how many different character paths we'll be able to have with various combinations - seems crazy.

Anyway, aside from wanting to talk about what impressive possibilities you think this game will offer to us, I'm also curious about what the minimum requirements will be? Some people (me ) are running cheap configurations and we don't have the budget to get the best gaming rig possible.

Let's hear your opinions, we can even brainstorm some great value-for-money PC parts that could get us through this game.

Matty

Which I guess is kinda cyberpunk in its own way.

I am actually curious because I played the tabletop version back in the day. When it was set in the distant future of 2020.

Edit: this post made more sense before the post above it was baleeted.

Not quite sure I understand what you're saying subego. Haven't seen the above post.

Anyway, do you think a 1060 Ti card could run Cyberpunk on high settings?

Unfortunately, no clue. I’m way out of the loop when it comes to gaming rigs. I’ve become a mobile gaming peasant.

Turns out I found the answer to my question with some simple google searching. This video says Cyberpunk 2077 will require at least a GTX 1080 GPU.

Although, it does look extremely impressive. I'm looking at some graphics cards for gaming but they are all quite expensive. Maybe waiting for the market to shift would be smarter, the game comes out in 2020, possibly even 2021.

Would a GTX 1080 GPU even fit in my powerMac 5300?

DAKAR WHERE ARE YOU COME MOD THIS THING.

The 1060 came out in 2016, so it would be 5 years old by then. However, there is no such thing as a 1060 Ti. So you are using an imaginary graphics card. The answer is "No" - you cannot run any game on an imaginary GPU, regardless of settings.

We might be interested in whatever you're smoking though. Good stuff.

Apologies, I meant to say 1080 Ti in the first comment which was before I found the video.

If you have a 1080 Ti, you don't need to worry about budget gaming. That's a high-end card today. One of the top-6. Also pricey - $900+ new on ebay. $500+ used.

One of the more memorable cybernetic enhancements from the pen and paper version.

I was so excited for this one! I even bought me a $1,500 rig with an RTX 2070 to prepare... And then they pushed the release date! Now I'm not sure that my new PC is going to be enough with the new consoles just around the corner..

Also waiting for this game, but I do not think that my imac will pull it. I hope for a stable 60 fps in December!)

They'll do OK next year. From the reviews, it looks and plays like a next-gen title. It's just all those bugs that need fixing.

One of the arguments they’re hosed is precisely because it’s a next-gen title, and they’re trying to cram it onto last-gen hardware.

Now they’re stuck spending most of their resources on making those functional, and not addressing the wider issue, which is broken AI, and missing features.

Being familiar with the IP, one of the glaring missing features is changing your appearance. Not only is completely changing your appearance or gender casually accomplished in this universe, you can literally become a cat girl.

That you can change your appearance after character creation is considered a basic “quality of life” enhancement in gaming now, even if there isn’t a good reason for it to be possible.

It’s wholly justified by the genre in this case, and it’s still not there. This game isn’t anywhere near finished.

The big bug right now looks like using the crafting system too much wrecks the save game file.

Woops!

I’m still curious. I’d buy a copy if I had a rig which could handle it.

I don’t understand why they bothered release last-gen versions if they were effectively unplayable. They should’ve gone PC only.

Although the 50 people with a PS5/XSX would have been OK.

IIUC, it’s because CDPR made deals with Sony and Microsoft to have it work on last-gen systems.

This deal made sense at the time because it was supposed to be released a couple years ago at the least.

It’s presumed they were so far behind, at some point they scrapped what they had (putting them more behind) and started developing on the new hardware. However, there wasn’t enough time for that, as can be seen by how buggy and incomplete it is, let alone time to do any optimization for last-gen.

Thanks for sharing. Hope wouldn't disappoint again but here's a way at cyberpunk futuristic clothing.

I have a mid ranged PC  and the game runs good on Medium-High settings, but it still has a lot of bugs which is annoying.
