What were the last 5 best movies you rented and why?
What about the next movies coming out, what are you looking forward too most?

I can only remember the last two rentals but here goes:

The Last Samurai - Not bad. Good fighting scenes, but the plot was a bit far fetched.

Miracle - A HUGE surprise. I expected another Disney sugar coated gum drop of a movie but was pleasantly surprised. The acting was great and very believable. I am sure they took some liberties with the story and the dialog, but it was very good.

Dead Man - A really awesome postmodern take on the old-timey western. It's written and directed by Jim Jarmusch and stars Johnny Depp and Gary Farmer. It's really amazingly well shot and acted. It features a number of amazing cameos by the likes of Crispin Glover, Billy Bob Thornton and Iggy Pop.

The Hudsucker Proxy - A terrific period picture that masterfully combines drama and comedy to make some interesting points about the structure of American commerce and the American definition of success. It's a Coen brothers and stars TIm Robbins and Jennifer Jason Leigh

Salvador - Oliver Stone's first major feature film. It's the chronicle of journalist Richard Boyle (played by James Woods) in his misadventures in trying to save his journalism career and his crises of conscience and journalistic integrity when he becomes deeply bound to the outcome of a political coup in Salvador. Beautifully shot. Exciting, and with the fast-paced and impromptu feel of a documentary, it's a really good flick.

Uncovered: The Whole Truth about the War in Iraq - Despite the issues with editing and music, this movie is nothing short of overwhelming in the thorough manner in which it examines the Bush administration's case for going to war in Iraq. The filmmaker did interviews with something like 25 experts ranging from specialists in imagery analysis from the CIA, former pentagon officials, journalists, Scott Ritter (former U.N. Weapons Inspector), Joe Wilson (the ambassador who's wife's CIA identity was leaked by the Bush Administration) and a number of other people qualified to speak technically on the issues. It is something that I think every American citizen should see.

Rushmore - Written by Owen Wilson and Wes Andersen and directed by Wes Andersen, this is a hilarious and quirky coming of age-type-story. It stars Jason Schwartzman and Bill Murray. It's tough to describe, but it's meandering and unexpected story-line is a breath of fresh air when held up against most comedies of the last decade.
