Howdy,
I'm creating a brochure in Quark Xpress and I need an upside down "e." Any idea how to do that without screwing around with the Int'l keyboard settings?
Thanks,
-j

If you're useing a Layout/draw program it should be easy as rotating it 90 degrees. Or is that 180?

Thanks for the help, I guess there is no quick and easy way of doing it. The job I'm doing will be updated by others and font change may occur down the road, so operating on the actual typeface wouldn't work, but thanks for the offer RJenkinson.
Spinning the text block 180 and copying and pasting the block as a graphic within text works, but I was hoping for a "type as I go" solution.
Thanks for the suggestions though.

p.s. hey look, I've gained "junior" status!

Stand the Mac on its head and type e.
Sorry for the humour - just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Hmm... I was going to suggest that he stand on his head, but doing it the other way around works too.
By the way, no need to apologize for making a joke... no matter how obvious it is, somebody else would have made it.

Well, the problem with turning the monitor or myself upside down is that I need a single "e" out of an entire page upside down. I've got too much junk on top of my monitor anyway, the last time I flipped the monitor was when playing "Prince of Persia" and I drank that upside-down potion that flipped the entire game around, it was a crude way of dealing with the situation, but I'm alive and well today because of it.

What makes you think "he" is a he?

all you really need to do is turn the KEYBOARD upside down when you type the "e" - it's those Windows users on PC's who have to turn their monitor upside down, remember, this was Gil Amelio's major contribution when he was steering the ship.

I'm sure there is some key combination to do it, but I downloaded PopChar 2.7.2 to access those special characters. It's freeware and is available from ftp://ftp.soft.uni-linz.ac.at/public/

well, that would depend entirely on the font. and most fonts don't include the schwa character.

jchan:
Haven't tried it in other fonts - but in Geneva typing option and small d gives "*" - not a true
inverted e, but close.
