I'm sure theres already a thread on this somewhere, but I just recieved a 4G ipod as a gift and am looking for the best case. After some searching I'm overwhelmed at the number of options. I want something neutral and not like hot glow in the dark pink

i have a XtremeMac case ... soft leather, front flips up, velcro bottom tab to close it over the dock connector. it doesnt sit in a dock though but i dont have one so it isnt a problem. worth looking into imho.

No.. I have an 4G iPod with dock, and altho the iSkin is very good. It's a bitch to take off. And of course doesn't fit in the dock with it on. It doesnt fit in the Belkin holder I use it with in the car either.
So I don't use the iSkin now. Apples iPod socks all the way!

not a fan of cases that you have to open or slide the ipod in and out of to access it.
Radtech's Optix doesn't scratch...I'm a freak about scratches (Yay Brasso)

Depends what you are looking for in a case. Personally, I liked the iSee for my first gen 'pod. My 4G 'pod resides in a SHOWCASE. Both the iSee and SHOWCASE are manufactured by Contour Design. www.contourdesign.com Incredibly well made, the SHOWCASE is the finest, most durable case out there and truly protects the unit from all kinds of perils.

get the $7 plastic wrap from JR Hill & Co.
You'll probably realize that you won't want a case after you buy one and use it for awhile. It's easiest to just use it bare and deal with the scratches. (use Brasso)
