Seems like the info is scrolling of the window. You can capture it to a log file by adding the following at the end of your command line:
>> battery_info.log
Then you can view the log file by doing the following:
more battery_info.log
Sorry if you already know these UNIX commands.
Alternately, you can just make the Terminal window bigger and the rest of the data should appear properly.

Well I have a PowerBook battery that is less than a year old and I'm now getting the following stats:
| | | "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=3665,"Amperage"=0,"Cycle Count"=86,"Current"=3663,"Voltage"=12415,"Flags"=1 090519045,"AbsoluteMaxCapacity"=4400})
| | | | "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=3665,"Amperage"=0,"Cycle Count"=86,"Current"=3663,"Voltage"=12415,"Flags"=1 090519045,"AbsoluteMaxCapacity"=4400})
This same battery is use to have a Capacity of 4449. Would this be considered a faulty battery at this point and should I see if Apple can replace it under warranty? Should their battery be dropping off so fast with under a year of usage?

My battery has been crap for a while... like 5-10 minutes of charge and then it would quickly go to sleep..
I just did the battery test... and well this is what I got (not plugged in).
"Capacity"=65528,"Amperage"=18446744073709550158," Cycle Count"=209,"$
Notice the super scary numbers?!
Also forgot to say that it's going strong (20 mins + right now) and the lights on the bottom seem to agree that with the (99% full that it's showing)

So the capacity is actually floating number, depends from battery recharge cycles.
My PowerBook bought in December 2003 saying:
Capacity"=2887,"Amperage"=2599,"Cycle Count"=634,"Current"=192,"Voltage"=12202

hahaha, this is why i got a new battery:
IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=729,"Amperage"=0,"Cycle Count"=190,"Current"=723,"Voltage"=16623,"Flags"=8 38860805,"AbsoluteMaxCapacity"=4000
so with the new one it's:
IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=3944,"Amperage"=1336,"Cycle Count"=2,"Current"=3219,"Voltage"=16487,"Flags"=83 8860807,"AbsoluteMaxCapacity"=4200

You was needed to check out on the Apple site when they had battery replacement program, probably still have. Mine s/n of battery were alright, so they didn't replace mine, but I think "their battery" sucks. I think they should find a better battery vendor, I don't know who makes them, but PowerBook G3 had a better battery life that mine G4 now.

I too had a similar situation. It was due to the faulty 10.2.8 update that was pulled by Apple. After that update, my battery wouldn't work for more than 15-20 minutes. It finally stopped even recognizing I had a battery. I would get a capacity number in the same range as yours. I bought a NewerTech and have been freed from the power cord again!

Not bad but dropping. When I got it, it was 4396, then it went to 4405 -- and suddenly it's 4373! That's a BIG drop!

My original is quite bad... it started go south right after 1st year warranty. I am loosing ~200mAh a month after 12 months. I must have a bad one to start with. Notice my count is only 93 and I've saw people with 2xx cycles but still retain 3800 capacity. My 2nd battery purchased 2 months ago have capacity of 4553.

12" DVI 1GHz model (Oct 2003):

Apple claims the batteries will not start depleting significantly until around 300 cycles... it's pretty sad then when a battery only about 1/2 ways to this threshold has already depleted over 50%. Seems to be the sad story of many.

I bought my 15" powerbook 4 days ago and this is what I got:
| | | "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=4305,"Amperage"=2593,"Cycle Count"=5$
| | | | | | | "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=4305,"Amperage"=2593$
Not really sure if its good, I calibrated the battery like it said in the manual. On the apple site it says not to keep the powerbook plugged in all the time so I usually charge all the way, deplete, charge all the way etc etc. All my other (windows based) laptops' batteries died one two three, I hope its better. I'd say this battery lasts 2.5 hours, is that good for the capacity of the batter?

12" 1.33 ghz iBook purchased last week:
On Battery power: "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=4593,"Amperage"=1844674407370955060 2$
On Adapter power: "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=4593,"Amperage"=1002,"Cycle Count"=3$
Seems about right for a new battery compared to other posters in this thread. One weirdness i've noticed so far though is that the battery percentage never gets to 100%, only to 99%. I followed apple's instructions for conditioning the battery to a tee when i first got it. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it normal or does it indicate some risk of battery failure?
Thanks.

So my 15"er is up to 4415 The trick is to sleep the machine when you get to ~95% and then wait for it to turn green -- this will usually get it as high as it can go.

Sorry, could you clarify what you meant by that exactly? I operate my iBook until it goes down to 95% then charge up again?
Thanks in adavance.

Err, what I meant was that when you charge it, if you're using the machine while it's charging, you can sleep it when it gets around 95% and then it'll continue to as far as it can go. For some reason when the computer's running it's more of a "mileage may vary" situation and my battery only ever charges to ~4300.

Hmmm. Is it supposed to work on Pismos? I got "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=10000,"Amperage"=0,"Cycle Count"=249$
Could that be because it is reading the wrong battery bay (my other is empty and those numbers match XBattery.)
edit - Yup. Wrong bay. I got "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=2662,"Amperage"=18446744073709550439, "Current"=2340,"Voltage"=11$
| | | | "IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Capacity"=2662,"Amperage"=18446744073709550439, "Current"=2335,"Vol$
in the other bay.
I get about 2h15m on this old battery and have a 7200mAh replacement on order. Based on what XBattery reports (2662mAh capacity, a 7200 batt should give me 6 hours of standard battery life. If I buy a second, I'd get 12!
Update: OK, my battery came in and the paperwork claims it is a 7800mAh. I popped it into the Pismo and it reported 5400mAh, but it hasn't been calibrated. I ran a DVD for 3 hours and it still wasn't dead yet. I had to go to work before it went to sleep. With full brightness and full volume, XBattery reported about 2200 mA of current being used. Even on a 7800 battery that would last be 3.5 hours. I'll keep posting if anyone cares.
