Wouldn't it be great if Apple updated the eMac line with a 19inch screen, leaving weight aside i would find it wonderful. I find it a little cramped already with the res at max, you can never have enough anyway!
I suppose though before the do anything like this the CRT would have to be a low weight solution because its 30Kgs already.

Before Having a 19" imac I would rather have a faster imac (1.42G4) w/ the ability to change the video card.
But I'm dreaming ....

Hmm, I don't think that a 19" eMac is in the cards. Remember it's primary customer is the education market and I really don't see why they would want a 19" monitor, it would cost more and 17" is big enough for the education market. I really think the overall design is fine for what it is and I think we'll see it around for awhile. They can just keep putting in faster hardware and maybe lighten the load, but the primary deciding factor is not appearance, but value, more machine for less should remain Apple's focus for this market.

why not just run another monitor?
That gives you more area. I don't think a 19" eMac is in the cards, the computer could use a good speed boost, but other then that I think as it is, it's a great machine for the money.

If it was a 19inch monitor maybe they could have a videocard which you could pull out.
How much is another monitor to buy anyway and who says that person has the space? 19inches on its own might be better.

I would expect the eMac line to die out as the cost difference between an LCD monitor and a CRT monitor narrows. It's only a matter of time. The only way the eMac line could survive long term is if Apple later moves it to using an LCD screen (becoming something like a cheaper iMac.) Even then I would not expect it to get a 19" monitor unless the price point for such a monitor is relatively cheap.

It's funny but the eMac looks better at 1280x960 than at any lesser resolution despite the el cheapo-ness factor (in fact it looks quite stunning at the highest rate). Go figure
