In Mac OS Sierra, the icons in the Finder sidebar with just the normal view are light sepia. If one saves a file, the cutdown version of the Finder window shows grey icons in the sidebar. I know exactly where the sepia ones are, but the grey ones are not in the same place. Where are the grey sidebar images stored in Mac OS Sierra?

After changing the default sidebar folder icon in CoreTypes.bundle to a coloured one and seeing the folder grey icon change to a different shade of grey, I now think that Mac OS is simply greyscaling everything in the Finder sidebar. Where would this greyscale setting be in Mac OS? Is there any way of changing it? And why change all folders that look like folders in the sidebar to generic? They were all customized.
