Those are a Pentium 4. They were supposed to get sent back to Apple, but a few didn't. It is a violation of NDA to talk about them, much less sell one. The seller could get in HUGE trouble with Apple, as well as the buyer. Tiger works fine with them, but who knows about Leopard. They are basically a curiosity. It was made in 2005. They were $1,000 if I remember right basically to rent one for a while.

Thank you, that was what I was thinking as far as the sale goes.

Oh yeah, he's right about it being fast. Those were considerably faster than the first Core Duo iMacs.

IIRC the motherboard was just one of Intel's retail boards... probably 945P based.

Like anything else on Craigslist or ebay lately, it's probably a scam.

Not according to Geekbench or Sysmark. A Pentium IV 3.6Ghz would be equalled or beaten by a 1st generation Core Duo 1.66Ghz. The Core architecture is vastly improved. A 2Ghz Pentium M would beat a 3Ghz Pentium IV before the Core range came out.

Didn't they use the dual core 3.6Ghz P4s in the development systems?

Now that I think about it, I think they did. Let me check out the Keynote. I'm pretty sure though that it was quite a fast machine.
