Does anybody know of a freeware tool for cropping, not scaling, QuickTime video? I have some 720x480 footage that I'd like to crop down to 640x480. Maybe it's built into QuickTime, but if it is, I'm missing it. Thanks for the help.

You can do it in Quicktime Pro using the mask function. Copy a frame of the movie and paste it into a graphics app. Colour the parts you want to be visible black and the other white and save it as a pict file. Then get properties (Cmd-J), select Video track and mask and insert the mask you created.

If you've got Classic installed you might also be able to use the free Movieplayer 2.x. I'm pretty sure I've linked to it in the past, so do a search for it...

What about iMovie? Won't it do this?
