Well, after searching for coupons daily for a couple weeks, I found a 20 percent off this morning (on only one oof several sites, which I think is weird) for a Dell 2005 FPW. Price b/4 S&H was $511, so it's just 11 or 12 bucks more than the offer a few weeks ago that I let expire while dithing internally on what I really wanted. And I did get free financing for 6 months, which I always like, as I do always pay these things off within the time frame.

By the way, for anyone else looking, I got the coupon on Bradsdeals.com. It expires Thursday or after a certain number of uses. I looked on several sites and this was a complete fluke that I even found this one. (Of course, the ordering process was far from smooth, but that's life.)

Now, the interminable wait until it arrives! (I flat out could NOT bring myself to spend $23 on 2-day shipping.) My Studio Display has done yeoman's service these past 5 years, but it's about to be retired.

Ben, what kind of shipping did you specify? Mine isn't expected to order until Monday the 14th! So I might change to two-day, despite my reluctance to pay...

Yea, 20% is the best coupon at the moment... next week could easily be 30% off or 25% + $50 off.

For those who don't want to look it up, the coupon code is PM404FGS$$KDLG

Also, Dell's shipping times are bogus. I've never had a package ship on the day they initially estimate. I think its a worst-case earthquake-hits-Taiwan estimate, because all my Dell stuff has shipped early.

I know it will drive me crazy if it's lots cheaper next week. But I'd made the decision in advance that if I could get it at $500, I'd go for it and not wait and wait for the next big coupon. I did check ebay today and there are TONS of new ones and with some careful bidding you could probably get a new one for $450 or less (and that's including shipping). I was concerned about the warranty, though, plus, it was too late.

By the way, mine has already shipped! It shipped within hours, in fact and is supposed to be delivered Thursday, so I'm pretty excited.
