It took a long time but I finally fell out of love and **** it feels like I'm reborn. The girl gave me the run around for a long time before I realized she and her boyfriend, yes her boyfriend, were playing games with my mind for their own amusement. There was me thinking she had feelings for me when in actual fact the boyfriend she was keeping in the shadows was pulling all the strings. What the hell is wrong with some people?

I was scared that if things went wrong I'd be so heartbroken that I'd feel like dying, but instead I feel ****ing great! I mean it, falling out of love is an amazing feeling no matter how attached you felt. **** her. I'm moving on and she's going to feel like the dingo when she sees me with a woman much better than her and what I'll do with my life! Her and her crooked boyfriend can eat it!

Moral of the story for my fellow Maccers - looks after number one and all good things will come! Love you all!
I'm just warming up.

The easy way? Another lady. The hard way and in my opinion the best way? Time.

EDIT: forgot to say congrats on getting over her. Hope it "sticks."

No, by dingo I mean she'll feel non-existent because in retrospect I realize she feeds off the attention of others. She deserves no attention, will definitely get none from me. It's over. The attention she will get is from two-bit crooks who will eventually cause her ruin. I'm having no part of it.

It's sticking great. You wouldn't believe how many ladies have been friendly with me, really ****ing amazing women ranging from hot to scolding, all of whom I passed on. I'm not going to make that mistake again. Advice: Take whatever comes. If it works it works if it doesn't there's plenty of fish in the sea. That's what she tried to do to me, except I'll never hurt anyone or put them in a depressing situation. All is not fair in love and war.

I'm very sorry to hear about the way that you were treated. Sadly there are just evil people in this world.

Here is the lesson I learned. The more decent someone tries to make themselves look the more false they are. The more they surround themselves with symbols of spirituality and intellect the more false they are. A true person speaks what's on their mind right or wrong. No secrets.

Congrats, now get out there and play ball!

It sound like you have the right mindset to move on... which is the best way to forget about them.

Edit: Forgot, the best revenge.... is to be happy.

I know what you mean but if you've been ****ed around you know what it's like. Like history1me said, the best revenge is happiness. I don't give a **** if she notices or not. If she does then she'll know how I felt. I don't think she will though. Too proud of herself.

I know how you feel. The best thing to do is let it go like that song by Sting, If you love somebody set them free.

Buy a PSP. You'll forget her quickly! What a geek am I!

I know, it's funny... I'm still kinda seeing someone I know is bad for me, but I can't help it... we were split up for a while, and after a little bit, I did have the same feeling - hope for the future.

Emotions are strange things...

You can try taking some advice from the ages:

http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_068a.html

Cecil Adams found this gem

I recommend a remedy prescribed by the 14th-century physician Bernard of Gordon in his Lilium medicinae:

Finally . . . when we have no other counsel, let us employ the counsel of old women, who may slander and defame the girl as much as they can, for they are more sagacious in this than men. . . . Let there be sought a most horrible-looking old woman with great teeth, a beard, and evil and vile clothing who carries a menstrous napkin in her lap. And, approaching the lover, let her begin to pull up her dress, explaining that she is bony and drunken, that she urinates in bed, that she is epileptic and shameless, that there are great stinking excrescences on her body, and other enormities concerning which old women are well instructed. If the lover will not relent on account of this persuasion, let her suddenly take out the menstrous rag before his face and bear it aloft saying with a loud cry, "Such is your love, such!" If he doesn't relent on account of these things, he is a devil incarnate. His fatuousness will be with him finally in perdition.
I know that's for one woman in particular, but it might work in general.

He should have said "How to forget a woman'. I was in the same boat as him. 'Ruthless hands have torn her, From one that loved her well'. Now that I'm free I can't believe what I allowed myself to be put through by someone who didn't care at all. I hope I never see her face again. Take William Blake's advice, never tell anyone you love them. It's very destructive for both parties.

Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind doth move
Silently, invisibly.

I told my love, I told my love,
I told her all my heart,
Trembling, cold, in ghastly fears.
Ah! she did depart!

Soon after she was gone from me,
A traveller came by,
Silently, invisibly:
He took her with a sigh.

Best way to get over anything, give yourself time to mourn, grieve, etc and go through all those steps that you need to, then get on with your life, and fill the hole you were trying to fill with that thing, with something that won't hurt you.
Me for example, after 7 years growing up in a Church, after a split and a whole lot of other crap, I could no longer stay there, I took about a year and a half of just kinda being still being a Christian but not being part of one specific church, now I've been almost a year at my new Church, where I'm active, respected, and valued. I learned a lot, and am now less likely to join an abusive Church again.

And in between relationships with your old church and your new church you were praying with yourself?

Couldn't resist that one

Real prayer is never by one'self... there's always someone a lot more important involved. That said though, like I said I didn't stop being Christian, nor did I stop fellowship with other believers. At the time I was attending a Bible College which helped... in some regards, as well I still had many believing friends elsewhere.

Agreed. After I got divorced, I got my life back on track and lost weight, started traveling, etc, and I'm a better man for it. My friends would love for me to run into my ex so she could see how I look/feel now, but I honestly couldn't care less about it. I agree that the best revenge is to happy, but it's even better when you actually want the other to move on as well and live a happy life.
