Great Job Jason!
David and Fireside: Somatic is fantastic to you too!
Jason, one question: when is the next ThemePark coming?

...and the first bug report!
Downloading themes does work but the installation failes!
That's how it looks like:
I changed the Azure theme from .dms to .guiKit and then it was possible to add it to the themes but that created the copy of it...?!?
What's wrong?

Great update
One question:
How are the Icons changed? Does it change system files or is it the usual Unsanity way like the themes?
One request:
Mirror cursors, so we leftys dont need special lefty cursors and can use all the cursors which come with the themes.

Daaaaamn this is cool! But the icons.. I don't think the SS 2.0 Icon changing ability can replace CandyBar

Is it just me or are the cursors not changing? I've downloaded MightyMouse and logged in an out and they are still the same.
The only thing I don't like is the icon switching, would prefer if you could select to 'theme' the system icons and leave the apps alone.
Edit: Cursors working now, restored then reselect Somatic and it worked

Works well with 10.3.6R24...but I still like CandyBar for the icon changing part. Also, what SS 1.2 themes are compatible with 2.0 or are they all OK? I used GoodGrey without problems (it is just a superb theme, usable and easy on the eyes with icons that are outstanding) but are older themes going to work?
It would be really nice if SS ?2.5 would allow changing fonts/font colors for different parts of the system, but that may be low level hacking which is precisely what SS avoids and which makes it so stable.
Anyway, most definitely worth the wait...

So far so good. However, doesn't play nice with the new iTunes. It keeps telling me I have to re-apply the theme. I did that and it still doesn't let me theme iTunes 4.7.
Good work though. This is a great app!!

underwhelmed.
any way to change the 'get more themes' to resexcellence instead of the one that seems to be the default?
and the little thing that's been bugging is still there. the progress bar almost falls off the end. small thing i know.
can't download exec and the other ones are not my taste.
flame ahead.

Great work everyone, it looks amazing.
Somatic is just gorgeous, and fun!
Question: Will ShapeShifter's desktop support include dual monitor systems in the future? It'd be great to easily be able to select a pattern for a second monitor as well.

The new features are nice, though most themes aren't taking advantage yet (though I suspect many will be updated soon enough).
eXec looks fantastic in the finder. Unfortunately, it's completely unusable in virtually anything else because the fonts are all black. Try opening Photoshop...
Overall a great effort by all, I'm truly impressed.

If sweet slumber is a halloween-release, why don't they say so on the download site?
Looks like it should be out by now, but apperently isn't.

Very cool.
I'm seriously considering purchasing this, but I was wondering if we know anything about the themeability of Tiger. Will Shapeshifter even work then?

Hello buggy...
I experienced the same problem with cursors mentioned above, but it resolved itself eventually.
More importantly, after I changed icons a couple times, it would no longer change my Finder icons. Logged out, restarted, disabled SS, restored settings, etc. Nothing works.
Then when I restored default settings, some apps would keep launching with one of the theme skins. I had to turn SS 2.0 off entirely. Money well spent.

Tiger is still a relatively long way off. A bit too early to be worrying about compatibility with it. When it comes time, everything will be done to ensure that all APEs are Tiger compatible. But now is definitely not the time coming.

I installed it and had a kernel panic upon opening the system preferences.
Coincidence I hope.
Can't download any themes thru the pref pane.
Also would like to change the link for 'Get More Themes' to a better site.

Re-Start worked! I think it had to do with the caching that SS now does.

I haven't read all the replies, but .dms smacks of SpeedDownload. I would suspect that to be the culprit...

SS 2.0 is Not working for me. Non of my theme's will load, the icons won't load. The only thing that works is the desktop picture. As for the Icons, I exported them using Pixadex after going through each icon and catagorizing them. I exported them in Pixadex format as well as in Candybar format, an nada. Error Message. After I apply a theme it gives me this error message, so I did what it said to do and still nothing. I haven't changed anything on my system, I just DL'd, installed and resarted. Weird stuff, any suggestions or comments?

I hate to carry on the bug reports, but something really bad is going on here.
I applied azure, used it for a little while then tried changing to somatic. Azure will not go away. Restart, reverting to aqua...nothing works. The sys preferences changes to the theme I select but all other apps stay as azure.
Sorry to do this in the [ann] thread, but this is really weird.
EDIT::::::
Smegers itunes solution solved this problem also (even though i hadn't updated yet.)
Originally posted by smeger:
Well, gotta have at least one bug in every release...
If you've installed the new iTunes 4.7, you'll find that many of your apps have reverted to Aqua. Here's the fix:

Launch Terminal. It's located in /Applications/Utilities
Enter the following command:
defaults delete com.unsanity.shapeshifter CustomSettings
Guess I've got something to do for 2.0.1 now.
Sorry for the inconvenience. I was scared when I heard that we were releasing on the same day as an Apple Music Event...

At first I was soooo exited!! I could stop laughing and crying at the same time... now only the criying remains...
Ik updated iTunes to 4.7 and Quicktime to 6.5.2 as well today (after I installed and tried SS 2.0) and now both the Finder and iTunees don't respond to SS anymore... WHYYYYYyyy......... *starts bursting in tears again*
I really really hope this bug is killed in 1 day!

Great work, Jason and all those involved! Thank you very much!
I hate to ask for more after all you've given us, but like .saNNic. brought up, any idea on the ETA for a new ThemePark that will allow us to develop for the new features of SS 2.0?

Damn I hate being at school for things like this... Need to update from 2.0b3...
Yay looks like we'll be having a 1.0.1 update after all! lol
Everyone may want to trash your old ShapeShifter Cache file before installing any themes with 2.0. It's located in: ~/Library/Caches/ I'm not sure if Jason has it clear when you install 2.0.
