OS X 10.5.2 on MBP 2.16

Seems to always be the same issue but I'm not super great at reading panic logs. Any ideas. I don't think it's a RAM issue?

Is that the ENTIRE log?

Have you added any new RAM lately? Have you run the Apple Hardware Test?

Strange. Do you have an external drive you can try a fresh install on? Does booting from the install DVD work? Installed anything new recently?

Just started a thread on how the Leopard Graphics Update killed DVD Player on 12" PB.

May be totally unrelated to your problem, but if you do an archive-and-install, I most definitely suggest NOT applying the Graphics Update. The 10.5.2 update seems to be fine. Quicktime update is fine.

Yes I can run from an external drive, booting from the install dvd works and I haven't installed anything major recently, only mail appetizer, but the panics started before that.

I'm happy to carry out al th eusual diagnostics and I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of it eventually (or at least I'll get bored and do a clean install) but I was hoping that a more tech savvy nner would be able to spot something in the crash log.

Well there's nothing in that panic log to help, unless it's your processor.

An example of a useful panic log:

[codex]Wed Nov 14 04:55:39 2007
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x0039CDE0): "m_free: freeing an already freed mbuf"@/SourceCache/xnu/xnu-1228/bsd/kern/uipc_mbuf.c:2742

did archive and install first but that was very unstable so i ended up wiping the drive and doing a complete clean install.
Can't find any more complete crash logs - sorry

Was it stable before the upgrade?

Are you using Logitech Control Center by any chance? If so that is the culprit almost certainly. Avoid it at all costs.
