I just saw it. Pretty cool overall, but I thought Justin Long's parts were the best.

great movie! filmed only 25 minutes from my hometown in Monroeville, PA (notice the Monroeville Zombies hockey team - Monroeville is also where the original Dawn of The Dead was filmed)

You know what was really bizarre: I'm in Indiana, and watched the movie at a local theater.
When I left the movie theater parking lot, I noticed a BMW in front of me, with PA license plates. I take a closer look: Monroeville. What are the odds of that happening 400 miles away ?

Well, it got 66% on Rotten Tomatoes. That's not a bad score. Not a good score, but not a bad score either. Metacritic gives it 56, which is considered average.

Anyways, based on the previews, this one's low on my list. Maybe a rental.

Don't forget, this is Kevin Smith. He's not mainstream. A 66% rating is actually good.

I just got back from this and found it really funny. Really enjoyed it.

Last week's Smodcast said that this week's (Monday's) will be Kevin and Scott doing a commentary track for the movie. I find their commentary tracks funny so I'll probably re-watch the movie while listening to the commentary track.

It isn't playing in many of the Salt Lake City movie theaters. http://www.sltrib.com/entertainment/ci_10833108

I think it is fine that it isn't playing at those theaters though. The business owner has the right to decide what he wants to have play at his theaters and what he doesn't. Regardless of what others think, it is his business and it's his decision. From what I can remember a few years ago when they wouldn't play Brokeback Mountain some of you might say "I would never go to his theaters again!!!", but that is a pretty knee-jerk and stupid reaction (IMHO). But to each his own.

In my book, yes.

It's simple: if you never liked Smith's movies, chances are, you won't like Zack and Miri.

So, you liked it because it was a Kevin Smith movie.

Interesting.

I'll probably go and see it although I've always felt Smith's biggest problem is using people that can't act in his movies. I loved Dogma but every time Afleck opened his mouth I wanted to puke. The man is just awful. And Alanis Morrisette as god. Come on now. Why Smith insists on giving his friends a job is a mystery to me. Doesn't sound like someone that committed to his work. Sounds more like a "hobby".

Ad in the Sunday Syracuse Sub Standard (Post Standard) listed the movie only as "Mack and Miri". I guess the use of the word "p*rn" was pushing it a bit.

Sounds like a fun, no brainer type of movie.

I liked it a lot and I don't really give a **** about Kevin Smith movies since I saw that god awful jay and bob strikes back or whatever it was called. I laughed a LOT. It could have been that I was tipsed and drinking blueberry vodka tho. Who knows.

Clerks - good
mallrats - good
chasing amy - ok
dogma - good
everything else I've seen his name attached to up until zack and miri - utter ****.

Well, to be fair, it seems like you liked *most* of Smith's movies, just not Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back.

Really, besides Clerks II and Jersey Girl, there are no other feature movies that he made as a director.
