sorry mate!
Just resized them

They are both mine one is for work, the other is for play (mostly acts as a slave for HDTV watching [portable PVR] or for streaming music through the network)

Awesome, but why two separate machines?!? PVR take up too much HD space on the play PB? Need ultra-high security on the work machine?

Hope you don't pick up the wrong one on the way to work!

"Oh, sorry boss... I accidentally picked up my PornBook instead of my PowerBook."

Jokes aside, wow... impressive. I can't even get my (1) PB loaded up to the Max, let alone two just for kicks. Your work area looks quite nice, too.

Lol, yea the other powerbook is fairly secure and thus nothing on it except work stuff. Need to unlock the screen with biometrics and open DB's and apps the same way... certanly is time consuming!
So i cant be farked having to do all that to watch a DVD or play a game! lol.

I couldn't agree more! I'm currently in the process of buying some new, more practical furniture so that I can re-arrange everything more efficiently That big ol' desk is kinda clunky.

Yes, that's iTunes. I'm not too big a fan of the visualizations in general [born a couple of decades too late?], but they come in handy for gratifying photography.

As for the iCurve, your worries are ALL in vain.... at least with the 12". Even without adding the super-no-slip strips that Griffin tosses into the box, this PowerBook isn't going Anywhere. Snug as a bug in a rug, seriously. Whether I'm using the internal keyboard [which isn't often while at the desk], or yanking on the bloody thing from the front, it's a real struggle to get it to budge a centimeter. iCurve wasn't just slapped together in a few hours, they've put a great deal of effort into the design, and it really pays off.

As for the price, however, I've not got much to defend...

I totally agree. I don't seem to understand why people have a problem with letting others know how to do something when they ask.

You don't have to be a smart-ass about it. Everyone here knows how to use Google, but we're obviously asking because we have a sincere interest in something. Usually, if someone shows interest in something that intrigues me, I love explaining it to them.

Why not just take the extra time to type out directions for how to do it instead of wasting time to come up with a witty statement.

Ridiculous.

You have the same cell phone I do...What do you think?
How long have you had it?

Close to me having it for one year, a HUGE orange burk mark started in the LCD and they still have it...I brought it in for service more then a month ago.

YEAH! I'm getting it in the center of the lcd screen. It's starting to piss me off.

I'm not gonna get it serviced though, i'll just chuck it and get one with BT.. so i can use it with the PB. I'm also nearing a year with the phone.

here's my setup: 15" Al PB, LaCie firewire HD, icekeys, M-Audio Keystation 61es, Tascam US-122, Line6 POD XT.

This is where most of my musical ideas are born. The real stuff gets mixed & mastered in my studio somewhere else.

i think this last pic is cool considering it was taken with a phone cam:

2400 posts, and you can't find the right forum or "new topic" button, even?

Only kidding.... kinda.

The max res of the 17" Apple Studio Display (CRT/ADC) is 1600x1200, which your PB will handle fine.

This one's going to be tough to beat. The powerbook will soon be replaced by rev. B PowerMac G5 1.8DP.

My theater

The system includes:

PowerBook G4 667MHz DVI
Cinema Display 23" (announced July '04)
and some hi-end audio system you probably don't understand...

Please take a look at my system and enjoy it until I update it with a PowerMac.

Thanks for looking,

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that comment. I was just challenging other people so I could enjoy more cool powerbook setups. I know there must be other people with amazing systems just browsing the forums and not posting. Let's see them!

Ever since getting my 15 inch i have really been considering getting rid of my dell desktop and just waiting until i have enough for the imac g5 and use the pb as a desktop replacement until then.
I was keeping the dell around for gaming but now that im in college and working and such i dont have as much spare time and i dont want to use that on gaming.
Just a shame cuz i put so much money into it and i dont know where or how to get a good sale off of it as ebay is completly watered down with dell desktops.

Me I think if it was Conrad Johnson/Krell/Me amps with Infinity irs beta V or perhaps some fantastic Duntech sovereigns noise makers it might be even flasher.. then again I might not understand and have just plucked some esoteric names out of a hat.

Here's my brand-spankin' new rev C 12" PowerBook (replacing my rev A) and 23" Cinema HD Display. It's hard to convey just how big this sucker is in a picture. My iPod, PDA, printer, scanner, etc are out of frame.
Very, very, nice, Icruise! Aside from the wide expanse of the 23" ACD, I bet the move from the Rev.A to the Rev.C 12-inch makes a big difference. It's especially cool now that both the PB and ACD have DVI.

The only downside to your setup (and any PB with external display setup) is all the cables. That's why I've decided - heaven forbid! -- to keep my PB underneath my desk. Works wonders masking the high-pitched whine of the cooling fan too!

Until we get a 3 lbs sub-PowerBook, the 12-inch PowerBook will do.

Well, it's not as big a difference as I thought it might be, actually. It's faster, but not a huge jump. But I didn't feel that my previous PowerBook was particularly slow. I think the extra RAM I got (from 640MB to 1.25GB) might have a bigger effect than the bump in CPU speed. But I've only used it for a day or so, so my opinion may change.

The cables are a tiny bit unsightly, but it's not a big deal. Actually, I figured out that both the 15" and 17" would be worse, because I would have to have several things plugged into each side. At least this way they are all together. I use my PowerBook's screen for my email and dictionary programs and the Cinema display for everything else, so I can't keep the PowerBook on the floor or have the screen closed.
